Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a method that is used for treating movement impairments and joint pains, it comprises the usage of a dry needle without injection or medication which are inserted into the skin on the muscle areas.

This technique is also well-known as intramuscular manual therapy and trigger point dry needling. The primary intention behind this practice is to stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, connective and muscle tissues. Basically, a trigger point is a stretched skeletal muscle band, situated within a large group of muscles. These points can be incredibly tender, and touching them can cause acute pain to other parts of the body.

Most of the times, Dry Needling is confused with acupuncture – a practice performed by acupuncturists, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine. However, these two are completely different concepts. Dry needling is an integral part of the modern-day western medicine principles and is even supported by several types of research.

Apart from that, we also use this technique for treating:

  •  Joint dysfunction
  • Spinal dysfunction
  • Migraines
  •  Sciatica
  • And, Much More!

With dry needling, you can gain relief from specific muscular stiffness and pain. Moreover, by easing the triggered points, we also ensure enhanced flexibility and increased motion. Owing to this, we also use this method to treat fibromyalgia pain as well as sports injuries.

Our physiotherapists target those tissues that aren’t manually palpable.
To inactivate or release trigger points so as to enhance the range of
motion and relieve pain. Additionally, our aim is also to decrease muscle
tightness and stabilize the motor end plates dysfunction, the area where nerve
impulses are transmitted to the muscles. This can help
increase the chances of active rehabilitation for the patient.
