Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM) is a non-invasive type of manual therapy that is used to mobilize or manipulate soft tissue structures.
It’s a procedure in which we use diverse instruments and ergonomically designed tools to detect and mechanically stimulate structures of the soft tissue to get relief from musculoskeletal discomfort, injury, and pain.
It is also intended to enhance overall function and mobility.
The therapist will fully assess both client and their current workstation which includes the overall setup of the workspace, personal sitting and working postures (how the work tasks are performed), and any aches or pains one may be experiencing. And then, based on the results, our team of experts emphasizes on correcting the trunk posture to enhance spine, neck and head alignment, resulting in lesser fatigue while sitting at a desk for long hours.
With our IASTM technique, patients can get rid of:
Restricted motion Pain during joint motion Motor control issues (muscle coordination/activation) Muscle recruitment issues
Furthermore, with the help of IASTM, we introduce controlled micro trauma to impacted soft tissues so as to stimulate a local inflammatory response. This micro trauma starts re-absorption of excessive or inappropriate
scar tissue and simplifies a remodeling of the impacted structure of the soft tissue.
Often, our IASTM therapy comes with specific home exercises to stretch muscles so as to build flexibility and strengthen the injured area. Our trained and experienced physiotherapists prescribe these observed exercises to quicken the healing process. This benefits patient with tissues and joints problems to a great extent.
