Pelvic Health

Pelvic Health plays an essential role in physical, social, mental, as well as sexual well-being and is primarily related to the best possible management and functioning of the bowel, bladder, and reproductive organs. Having good pelvic health is beyond the absence of weakness or pain in the pelvic area.

Pelvic Floor Disorders (PFDs), are generally caused by weak or injured connective tissues or muscles of the pelvic area. At Body & Mind, we ensure the proper functioning of the muscles supporting the organs and relieve the pain and dysfunction. Here our experts concentrate on treating pelvic floor disorders, like incontinence in bladder and bowel movements or difficulty in urination or defecation (constipation), chronic pelvic pain, and painful intercourse. At our center, we implement a variety of techniques, such as: Imparting Education, Pelvic Floor Exercise, Manual Therapy and Electrical Stimulation.

Imparting Education

Our purpose remains to spread awareness regarding Pelvic health issues as much as possible. Clients are educated about the  pelvic anatomy and how it works alone and together with other body parts. We also help them understand how their regular habits and daily hygiene can affect their symptoms so as to prevent problems.

Pelvic Floor Exercise

Our skilled and trained team assists patients in terms of contracting and relaxing the pelvic floor muscles. Furthermore, we teach them timing and breathing techniques to achieve effective results from exercises. These movements done under observation help stretching tight muscles, strengthening weak ones and improving the overall flexibility.

Manual Therapy

In this technique, we use stretching or hands-on myofascial to help blood circulation, correct posture and enhance mobility.

Electrical Simulation

This technique helps us coordinate muscle contractions through a low voltage electrical current, thereby strengthening and coordinating the pelvic floor muscles.
We create awareness among women on how pelvic pain is not normal during periods, menopause or any other time (unless there is an underlying condition). The longer a woman bears chronic pain, there is more possibility for the nerve receptors to become sensitized. This can result in more severities and complicated, long term treatments. Hence, it is recommended to consult earlier.
