At Body & Mind, we execute Pilates a low impact exercise form that intends to reinforce muscles while enhancing the flexibility and postural alignment. Pilates focuses more on the core, which includes the spinal and the abdominal muscles along with other areas of the body. Hence, this form can be extremely advantageous for people who deal with arthritis, lower back and neck pain as it helps them keep the joints flexible and strong.
At our center, Pilate’s sessions are for 45 minutes. Wherein we begin with precise and slow movements along with breath control so as to strengthen and stabilize the core of the body.
The goal is to be in total control of your body as you move. That requires beginning from your central core muscles and using the stability these muscles provide to smoothly control your arms, legs and other extremities.
This is no easy feat, which is what makes Pilates a great way to build strength and stamina. While enabling our clients to do varied exercises, we help them be aware of their breathing and how their body moves with an intention to create body awareness.
